New Year 2019 :Trying to reclaim my attention span

I am sitting here in my tiny new room , just a few minutes past 12 am, entering the last day of 2018. I am wasting precious minutes on youtube and I see Pewdiepie's video oon my feed about how he read 722 books in 2018. Serendipity ? He describes exactly what I had complained about in my previous post , this inability to sit down and focus on a task long enough to be able to complete it. This temptation to give up on something as soon as it turns boring. So taking inspiration from him and combining it with my own desire to get back to my childhood habit of reading, I have decided to set a new goal for 2019 - to read a book a week. The coming year is going to be pretty busy for me, so honestly I am not sure if I will actually be able to accomplish this. But nothing would make me happier than setting a finite goal and successfully accomplishing it in the time frame I have set for it ( something I have been struggling to do in the past couple of years for various reasons). ...

Endless Night

I had been struggling to get back into the habit of reading books or writing. These activities that I had engaged in as hobbies started to seem like tedious chores. YouTube and endless instagram scrolling seem to have taken their place. Eventually (mostly out of fear that I had developed some form of adult onset ADHD and had completely lost my ability to focus long enough to read a book) I picked up Agatha Christie's Endless Night this Sunday. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I managed to finish the book in half a day. I immediately had this urge to write about it (because my sister suggested this book to me and we ended to up having completely different reactions to it). Anyone who knows Christie knows that she writes for the masses. Crime , romance , love triangles and intrigue all wrapped and served with a sense of British propriety.
